Myrtle Grove Project - July Progress Report

Greenup Industries continues to Excel in USACE Myrtle Grove Levee and Drainage Canal and Hurricane Protection Project.

Myrtle Grove - As the weather gets warmer, we have increased production and efficiency on this critical flood risk reduction project. Levee construction continues to push forward using 1.4 million cubic yards (CY) of earthen clay material supported by nearly 300 thousand  square yards (SY) of reinforced geotextiles.  Parallel to the levee we have excavated over 300 thousand CY for the drainage canal.  Concurrently, we have constructed over 35% of the required concrete floodwalls and 65% of the sluice gate structure.   This project, critical to the people of Plaquemines Parish, is required to be complete in late 2026, but we are on pace to finish construction well before that date.
